An IPS tag is a special label which applies to UK domains and controls which Registrar holds your domain name.

IPS tags are used to transfer UK domains. Auth or EPP codes do not apply to UK domain names.

IPS tags allow registrars to control your domain so you can renew it, change contact details, update name servers, etc.

The following domains use IPS tags:

  • .uk
  • .co.uk
  • .org.uk
  • .me.uk
  • .ltd.uk

IPS Tags are unique. No two registrars can hold the same IPS Tag.

The IPS Tag your domain belongs to is shown in public WHOIS searches.

DomainsFoundry is an Nominet Accredited Channel Partner and our IPS Tag is DOMAINSFOUNDRY.

If you wish to transfer a UK domain to DomainsFoundry you will need to ask your current registrar updates your domain’s IPS Tag to DOMAINSFOUNDRY.
