Setting up your DomainsFoundry domain to host a static website on Amazon S3 is easy.
Please note this help guide assumes you have already configured a static website on Amazon S3.
Step 1: Point your domain to your Amazon S3 Bucket
- Log in to your DomainsFoundry Dashboard. Click Domains > My Domains then select your domain you wish to point to Amazon S3
- Click Domain Tools > DNS Management
- Select CNAME from Filter and then click Edit for the record named www.example.com
- Enter the Endpoint Amazon have provided you when you created your S3 Bucket into the Record entry, replacing any existing details. For example, www.mybucket.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com. Click Save Record
Please note
– It may take up to 48 hours for your DNS changes to propagate
– You may need to clear your web browser cache to see the change
Step 2: Configure a Redirect for your domain to www.
- Log in to your DomainsFoundry Dashboard. Click Domains > My Domains then select your domain you wish to point to Amazon S3
- Click Domain Tools > Web Forwarding
- Select your domain you wish to point to Amazon S3 from the drop-down list.
- Enter http://www.example.com into the Redirects to field, replacing example.com with your own domain
- Select Do Not Redirect www.
- Click Add
