Summary

If you are having difficulties connecting to your email using your PC/Mac email application or iPhone then it could be due to a problem with the incoming mail server or outgoing mail server settings. The steps below will help you check your settings in a number of email applications.

Note: When using a DomainsFoundry email account your incoming/outgoing mail server is mail.yourdomain.com, replacing yourdomain.com with your actual account domain.

Checking your email server settings

Apple Mail

  1. Select the Mail menu and click Preferences
  2. Click the Accounts tab.
  3. Select your DomainsFoundry email account on the left.
  4. Check that the Incoming Mail Server is set to mail.yourdomain.com.
  5. Click the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) list and click Edit SMTP Server List
  6. Select your DomainsFoundry SMTP server.
  7. Check that the Server Name is set to mail.yourdomain.com.
  8. Click OK.

Apple iPhone

  1. Choose Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calandars.
  2. Tap your DomainsFoundry email account.
  3. Scroll down to Incoming Mail Server.
  4. Check the Host Name is set to mail.yourdomain.com and User name is your email address.
  5. Scroll down and tap SMTP
  6. Tap the Primary Server
  7. Check the Host Name is set to mail.yourdomain.com and User name is your email address.
  8. Press the Home button to exit.

Outlook 2007

  1. Select the Tools menu and click Account Settings….
  2. Select your DomainsFoundry email account and click Change.
  3. Check the following:
    • Incoming mail server is set to mail.yourdomain.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is set to mail.yourdomain.com.
  4. Click Next, then Finish and then Close.

Outlook 2003

  1. Select the Tools menu and click E-mail Accounts.
  2. Select View or change existing e-mail accounts then click Next
  3. Select your DomainsFoundry email account and click Change.
  4. Check the following:
    • Incoming mail server (POP3) is set to mail.yourdomain.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is set to mail.yourdomain.com
  5. Click Next and then Finish.

Outlook Express / Windows Mail / Windows Live Mail

  1. Select the Tools menu and click Accounts.
  2. Select your DomainsFoundry email account and click Properties.
  3. Click the Servers tab.
  4. Check the following:
    • Incoming mail (POP3) is set to mail.yourdomain.com
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) is set to mail.yourdomain.com
  5. Click OK to save then Close.

Microsoft Entourage

  1. Select the Tools menu then click Accounts
  2. Double click your DomainsFoundry email account.
  3. Check the following:
    • Receiving mail server is set to mail.yourdomain.com
    • SMTP server is set to mail.yourdomain.com
  4. Click OK to save.
