If your .de domain is not renewed before it’s expiry date then it’s placed into TRANSIT by DENIC, the governing .de domain registrar.

Whilst in TRANSIT, DENIC will contact you by letter explaining what you can do next. DENIC give you the option to re-register your .de domain or delete it.

The .de TRANSIT period lasts for 4 weeks from the domain’s expiry date.

To renew a .de domain in TRANSIT

You need to login to DENIC to get your domain’s AuthInfo transfer code.

The Authcode can be obtained by logging into DENIC’s Transit ServiceCenter with your domain name and the TRANSIT password sent to you in DENIC’s letter:

DENIC Transit ServiceCenter

If you do not have your DENIC TRANSIT password, please contact DENIC. DomainsFoundry cannot provide you with these details.

Once you have your AuthInfo transfer code please contact us and we will arrange the transfer and renewal of your .de domain name.

To delete your .de domain

If you no longer need your .de domain then you need to request its deletion with DENIC.

You can request the deletion of your .de domain name by logging into DENIC’s Transit ServiceCenter with your domain name and the TRANSIT password sent to you in DENIC’s letter:

DENIC Transit ServiceCenter

See http://direct.denic.de/en/denicdirect-servicecenter/index/deletion.html for further information on deleting your .de domain name.

What happens if I do nothing?

If you do nothing by the date set in DENIC’s letter, then DENIC takes over the administration of your .de domain name in accordance with their terms and conditions and will send you an invoice based on their current price list. See http://www.denic.de/en/preisliste.html

DENIC’s invoice must be paid. DomainsFoundry have no relationship with DENICdirect and are unable to help you with enquiries related to this service or invoice.
