This article explains how to add or change MX records for your DomainsFoundry domain name and point your domain at your own custom email service.

Add a MX Record

  1. Log in to DomainsFoundry Dashboard.
  2. Go to My Domains.
  3. Click a domain you wish to manage.
  4. From the menu, click DNS.
  5. Enter the name for your new record. For example:
    • Use @ to add a new DNS record at your domain root e.g. example.com (most common).
    • Use www to create a new DNS record at www.example.com
  6. Select MX from the Type drop-down list.
  7. Optionally, enter a TTL (Time To Live). The default minimum TTL for DomainsFoundry DNS is 1h (3600 seconds)
  8. Enter the MX record you want to use in the Value field in the format priority value. For example, 10 ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
  9. Click Save.

Your domain name will be instantly updated with your new DNS MX record. However if you can’t see the change on your PC or Mac then it’s likely your router has a cache of your old DNS records. Please allow 48 hours for these DNS caches to clear.
