Set up your DomainsFoundry email in the Outlook app for Android using IMAP. These steps apply to the free Outlook app available from the Google Play Store.

Prerequisites

  • Your full email address and mailbox password
  • Your domain name (used in the server hostname)

Add your DomainsFoundry email account to Outlook for Android

  1. Open the Outlook app
  2. Tap Add Account (or go to Settings > Add Account)
  3. Enter your full DomainsFoundry email address and tap Continue
  4. If prompted, choose IMAP. If Outlook defaults to a Microsoft 365 or Exchange login, tap the ? (question mark) in the top corner, select Change account provider, then pick IMAP
  5. Tap Advanced Settings and enter these server details:
    1. Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)
      • Hostname: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain)
      • Port: 993
      • Security type: SSL/TLS
      • Username: your full DomainsFoundry email address, for example, info@example.com
      • Password: your mailbox password
    2. Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
      • Hostname: mail.yourdomain.com
      • Port: 465
      • Security type: SSL/TLS
      • Username: your full DomainsFoundry email address, for example, info@example.com
      • Password: your mailbox password
  6. Tap the checkmark (✓) in the top corner to save and authenticate

Outlook will verify the settings and add your DomainsFoundry Email account. You can now send and receive email from the app.

Important notes about Outlook for Android

  • Adverts: The free Outlook app shows adverts from Microsoft. DomainsFoundry services are 100% ad-free. You may prefer another email app if you want to avoid adverts and data collection.
  • Focused Inbox: Outlook hides some messages in a Focused tab. Tap Other to see all emails. You can disable this in Settings > Focused Inbox.
  • Calendar: Outlook for Android does not support CalDAV, so it cannot sync DomainsFoundry shared calendars. Use the Android Calendar app instead.
  • Sync window: Outlook only syncs the last 30 days of messages by default. Older messages are not visible from the app. This is a limitation of the Outlook app.

FAQs

Can I use a different email app?

Yes. Any email app that supports IMAP will work with your DomainsFoundry email. Popular options include Blue Mail, and the default Android Email app.

What if the settings do not save?

Check that your email address and password are correct. If you have changed your password recently, make sure you are using the new one.
