How to migrate emails to DomainsFoundry mail with Thunderbird

This guide shows you how to transfer your emails from another host to DomainsFoundry using Thunderbird.

You’ll need:

1. A third-party email app, Thunderbird
2. Your old host’s email account details
3. Your new DomainsFoundry email accounts set up on your hosting package

Before you begin

1. Download and install Thunderbird, then open it.
2. Add your old email account to Thunderbird using the details from your previous host.
3. Add your new DomainsFoundry email account. You can follow our Thunderbird setup guide.

Once done, Thunderbird will show two accounts side by side — your old one and your new DomainsFoundry email account.

Moving your emails

1. In Thunderbird, open the Inbox of your old email account.
2. From the toolbar, go to Edit > Select > All.
3. With all messages highlighted, right-click and choose Copy To > Your new DomainsFoundry email account > Inbox.

Thunderbird will now copy your emails across. You can track the progress at the bottom left of the window.
