Using the steps in this article we’ll show you how you can connect your DomainsFoundry domain to your Shopify site.
Steps
- Set Shopify to use your custom domain
- Set up your DNS to connect your domain to Shopify
- Verify your domain connection in Shopify
Complete all three steps in the order shown above.
1. Set Shopify to use your custom domain
- Log in to your Shopify admin
- Go to Settings > Domains
- Click Connect existing domain
- Enter your domain name, for example, example.com
- Click Next
2. Set up your DNS to connect your domain to Shopify
- Open DomainsFoundry Dashboard and go to My Domains. Select the domain you want to connect to Shopify.
- From the menu, click DNS.
- Click the Edit icon next to your root A record — this has @ for the name.
- Set the Value to 23.227.38.65 and click Save.
- Click the Edit icon next to your AAAA record (also with @ for the name).
- Set the Value to 2620:0127:f00f:5:: and click Save.
- Click the Edit icon next to your www CNAME record.
- Set the Value to shops.myshopify.com and click Save.
If you have any other A or AAAA records on the root (@), delete them.
3. Verify your domain connection in Shopify
Click Verify connection in your Shopify admin to confirm your domain has been connected to your store.
That’s it. Your DomainsFoundry domain is now connected to Shopify.
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. During this time your Shopify store may not load on your domain, this is normal and will resolve on its own.
