Symptom
You’re receiving a large number of non-delivery reports (NDR) for e-mails that you never sent. These e-mails may appear to have been sent from your domain name.
Cause
This issue can occur if your e-mail address has been spoofed by an unknown third-party. According to Wikipedia, “E-mail spoofing is a technique commonly used for spam e-mail and phishing to hide the origin of an e-mail message.”
Typically, the e-mail will have it’s From, Return-path and ReplyTo fields set to appear as if the e-mail has come from your address, rather than the actual sender.
Resolution
If you’ve setup a catch-all email address, disable it. Typically, spoofed-emails use a non-existent email address so this should stop you receiving the NDR emails.
