The Manage Team interface in cPanel lets you create and oversee team users who can assist in managing websites, email accounts, and databases.
Steps to create a Team User in cPanel
- Log in to cPanel.
- For help accessing your cPanel see Where do I log in to my hosting control panel.
- Click Manage Team.
- Click Create Team User
- Enter a Username
- Optionally, add notes about the user you’re creating.
- Choose whether the user will set their password or if you will set the password for them.
- Enter a Contact Email.
- Choose the roles for the user. For example, Web and Database.
- Check I have read and understood the security risk warning.
- Click Create.
Steps for your Team User to complete the setup of their account.
- If you have selected The user will set the account password an email will be sent to the contact email, subject [example.com] Welcome to your new account: user@example.com. Click the link in the email. Enter or generate a password for your new cPanel sub-account.
- Your user can now login with their new username and password. Please note, do not use the contact email to log in.
Changing a Team users’ password
- Log in to cPanel.

- Click Manage Team.
- Click Edit User.
- Enter a new password.
- Click Save.
Changing a Team users’ roles
- Log in to cPanel.
- For help accessing your cPanel see Where do I log in to my hosting control panel.
- Click Manage Team.
- Click Edit User.
- Click the Roles field and check the roles you wish to add to your user.
- Click Save.

Suspending a Team User
- Log in to cPanel.
- For help accessing your cPanel see Where do I log in to my hosting control panel.
- Click Manage Team.
- Click Suspend.
Available Manage Team Roles in cPanel
Role | Description |
---|---|
Administrator | Allows team users to access high-level tools and modify files in the team owner’s cPanel account. Includes privileges from all other roles. |
Database | Enables team users to manage database tools and files in the team owner’s cPanel account, like phpMyAdmin.. |
Grants team users access to email administration tools and files in the team owner’s cPanel account, including email routing. | |
Web | Provides access to website tools and files for team users, such as WordPress Manager. |
