In this article we’ll show you how to setup your Windows 11 Mail or Windows 10 Mail app to connect to your DomainsFoundry email account to send and receive email using IMAP.
The steps are the same for both Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Steps to automatically set up your email in Windows 11 and Windows 10 Mail
- Click Start
- Search for Mail > Click to open
- If this is the first time you’ve opened Mail you’ll get a screen ‘First things first. let’s add your account.‘ Otherwise, click the Settings icon.
- Click Manage Accounts
- Click Add account
- Select Other account POP/IMAP
- Enter your DomainsFoundry email account details:
- Email Address:
- Your DomainsFoundry email address. For example, info@yourdomain.com
- Send your messages using this name:
- A name for your account, e.g John or Sales
- Password:
- Your email account password
8. Click Sign-in. Windows 11 and Windows 10 Mail should confirm your email account has been added. Click Done
Steps to manually set up Windows 11 and Windows 10 Mail App with an IMAP email account
- Click the Settings icon.
- Click Manage Accounts
- Click Add account
- Select Advanced Setup
- Click Internet email
- Enter your DomainsFoundry email account details:
- Email Address:
- Your DomainsFoundry email address. For example, info@yourdomain.com
- User name:
- Your DomainsFoundry email address. For example, info@yourdomain.com
- Password:
- Your email account password
- Account name:
- A name for your account, e.g John or Sales
7. Scroll down and continue entering your email account details:
- Send your messages using this name:
- A name for your account, e.g John or Sales
- Incoming email server:
- mail.example.com – Replacing example.com with your domain name
- Account Type:
- IMAP4
- Outgoing (SMTP) email server:
- mail.example.com – Replacing example.com with your domain name
8. Finally, scroll down and ensure all the check boxes are checked and click Sign in
9. Windows Mail should confirm your email account has been added. Click Done
Troubleshooting Windows 11 and Windows 10 Mail App setup
When I try to use automatic setup I receive error “We couldn’t find info for that account. Make sure that the email address is correct and then try again.”
Please click Try again repeatedly. After three attempts Windows 11 and Windows 10 Mail will let you setup your mailbox manually. Please follow Steps to setup Windows 11 and Windows 10 manually from step 6 onwards to set up your email account.
