Capturing a screenshot can be one of the quickest ways to showcase a problem you’re facing on your device to the support team. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can take screenshots on various popular platforms like iOS (iPhone/iPad), Android, macOS, and Windows:
Windows:
For all versions of Windows:
- Press PrtScn key. This copies the entire screen to the clipboard. After that, you can paste it (Ctrl+V) into any application that supports images (like Microsoft Paint, Word, or an email).
If you want to capture the active window only, press Alt + PrtScn.
For Windows 11:
You can also use the Snipping Tool by typing Snipping Tool into the Start Menu search bar.
This tool offers options to capture a fullscreen screenshot, window screenshot, or a custom screenshot.
In newer versions of Windows 11, use Shift + Windows Key + S to initiate a screenshot, then drag your cursor over the part of the screen you wish to capture.
The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard and you can paste it (Ctrl+V) into any application.
macOS:
- To capture a screenshot of your entire screen, press Command + Shift + 3 on your keyboard.
