Learn how to configure Microsoft Outlook 2013 with your DomainsFoundry Email account.

Steps to automatically set up an email account in Microsoft Outlook 2013

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2013 and click File > Add Account
  2. Select E-mail Account and enter the following:
    1. Enter your name
    2. Your email address, for example, info@example.com
    3. Enter your email account password
  3. Click Next

Outlook 2013 will now configure your account. When complete click Finish.

Congratulations. You’ve now configured Microsoft Outlook 2013 to send and receive email using a secure IMAP and SMTP connection.

Steps to manually set up an email account in Outlook 2013

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2013 and click File > Add Account
  2. Select Manual setup or additional server types and click Next
  3. Select POP or IMAP and click Next
  4. At the POP and IMAP Account Settings screen enter the following:
    1. Enter your name
    2. Your email address, for example, info@example.com
    3. Select IMAP for Account Type
    4. Incoming mail server: Enter mail.example.com, replacing example.com with your domain name.
    5. Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Enter mail.example.com, replacing example.com with your domain
    6. For User Name enter your email address, for example, info@example.com
    7. Enter your email account password.
    8. Please leave Require logon using Secure Password Notification (SPA) Unchecked
  5. Click More Settings…
  6. Click the Outgoing Server tab
  7. Tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  8. Click the Advanced tab and set the following:
    • Incoming server (IMAP) use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
    • Incoming server (IMAP) Port: 993
    • Outgoing server (SMTP) use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
    • Outgoing server (SMTP) Port: 465
    • Root folder path: INBOX
  9. Click OK
  10. Click Next
  11. Click Finish

Congratulations. You’ve now configured Microsoft Outlook to send and receive email using a secure IMAP and SMTP connection.
