You can assign multiple domains to your DomainsFoundry package using our Domain Alias feature. In this article we describe what a domain alias is, how you can add an alias domain using cPanel and how to remove an existing domain alias.

What is a domain alias?

In cPanel a domain alias allows you to do the following:

  • Lets your visitors access your current website through a different domain name. For example, .uk or .com
  • Use email addresses with an additional domain name.
  • Let’s you set up a redirect from an additional domain to a part of your website.

How-to add a domain alias in cPanel

  1. Log in to DomainsFoundry Dashboard
  2. Go to Services > My Services
  3. Click your hosting service
  4. Click Domains
  5. Click Create A New Domain
  6. Enter your domain name (e.g., yournewdomain.com)
  7. Click Submit

How-to remove a alias domain in cPanel

  1. Log in to DomainsFoundry Dashboard
  2. Go to Services > My Services
  3. Click your hosting service
  4. Click Domains
  5. Click Manage next to the domain you want to remove
  6. Click Remove Domain
  7. Click Yes, Remove This Domain

cPanel domain aliases FAQ

Q: When I add a domain alias I see the following error. How can I fix it?

Sorry, cannot determine name server IPs. Please make sure that the domain is registered with a valid domain registrar.

A: To fix this error please ensure your alias domain name is registered and pointed to working domain name servers.

Q: I’ve added my domain alias but it does not show my website. Why?

A: Please make sure your domain alias is pointing to our name servers or pointed to your account’s IP address.
